Lecturer checked the homework which he gave us to do on previous day. According to that all five groups come in front of the class and displayed their work. After that we started to talk about time management.
Time Management
Lecturer discussed about what is time management. As noted
by Peter Drucker time is
totally inelastic, perishable
and cannot be replaced. Also time management is helps to manage our time effectively. We discussed about how we manage our time. We can
manage our time in many ways. Following are some examples about how to manage
time properly.
- Tackle the most difficult tasks early in the morning.
- Use to do lists, diaries, wall planners and electronic organizers.
- Say no if you are asked to do something or go somewhere.
- Ask why if you are invited to a meeting.
- Give priority to matters which are urgent rather than those which are important.
- Priorities tasks and work in that order.
- Tackle tasks one at a time, or multi-task.
- Accept no unscheduled interruptions.
- Delegate where possible.
- Work in a place where you will not be disturbed.
Then as homework lecturer asked us to identify our short term goals and long term goals. Also create a time log of our daily work. Short term goals calculate within one to three years and long term goals calculate within ten to fifteen years.
Time Log
In time log there are mainly four columns which are time, activity, comment for the activity and analyse the work according to the weather that activity is necessary, appropriate and efficient. This time log really helps to prioritized our work.
Learning gain of the Lecture
Identify how to mange time properly. Maintain the time log and prioritize the work. Identify personal goals. Also work effectively.
Personal Opinion
This lecture was really important to me because I identify what were the ways which I waste my time. When I used to create a time log, it really helps me to maintain the time and do the work effectively. Lecturer asked us to list down our short term and long term goals, it actually helps me to highlight what my goals were and start work to achieve those goals.
